DACA: Where can you travel without Advance Parole?

Those with DACA may know that Advance Parole is a program that grants permission for travel outside of the U.S., but only under the limited conditions of proven humanitarian, educational, or career need. What you may not know is that there are several exciting locations you can travel to without the need for Advance Parole, due to their unique relationship with the United States.

To start, we should note that those with deferred status can travel to any of the 50 states, including Alaska and Hawaii, without Advance Parole. Beyond that, there are four beautiful U.S. territories that anyone with DACA can visit. These include Puerto Rico, Guam, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and the Northern Mariana Islands.

If you have DACA and love to travel, any of the above locales are open to you without emergency need or otherwise extraordinary circumstances. We of course advise anyone with DACA to carry official USCIS status documents with you even when traveling within the U.S. or its territories. And if you wish to travel outside of the United States, please contact our office to discuss Advance Parole options. We know your home is here, and wish you safe travels to any of these places and back again.
