ALERT: PROPOSED INCREASE IN IMMIGRATION FEES (2023)

We want to inform any clients or prospective applicants that the United States Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS) issued a proposal to increase immigration fees. PLEASE NOTE: THE INCREASE IS A PROPOSAL AND HAS NOT BEEN APPROVED YET. However, it is important that you are informed so that you can make the decisions that is best for you, now and in the future

 

What are the proposed changes?

•         Increase the cost of permanent residence applications from 26% to 130%

•         Increase the cost of applying to remove residency conditions by 76%.

•         Increase the cost of applying for a visa for religious workers by 86%.

•         Eliminate the reduced fee for permanent residence applications for minors.

•         Charge a higher fee for paper applications and a reduced fee for online applications.

•         Fee exceptions for humanitarian applications will continue, as will the ability to request a fee waiver for certain qualified applicants.

 

If in this new year 2023 you plan to proceed with any of these applications, we suggest that you take into account the possible fee increases and make your request as soon as possible.
